Admiral Block Party: Lafayette Booth
Lafayette will be representing at this year's Admiral Block Party on August 22nd! We will have a booth with kid's activities and goodies, on California Ave near the Admiral Theater. This is a lively neighborhood event with bands, beer gardens, food, local vendors & more!
Please volunteer for a timeslot to help with our booth & share your Leopard Pride with our Admiral community!

Back to School Teacher Meet & Greet
August 31st @ 4:00-5:00pm : Back to School Teacher Meet and Greet
Your Lafayette teachers and staff will be hosting a Back to School Teacher Meet and Greet on the playground on Monday August 31st from 4:00-5:00pm to meet before the start of the new school year!
This event will provide an informal setting for students, parents, and guardians to meet their child's teacher, ask questions, and put names to faces. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to reconnect with old friends and make new ones before the start of the school year.
We look forward to welcoming all our Lafayette families to this exciting event and are eager to kick off the school year on a positive note. See you on the playground!

Developmental Preschool Hours
7:40am-10:20am (morning session)
11:45am-2:25pm (afternoon session)
Developmental Preschool has the same start date as Kinder (Sep 8). Dropoff and pickup will be at the school’s main entrance.
Kindergarten Bell Schedule
Kindergarten School Hours: 7:50 a.m. – 2:20 p.m.
Wednesdays: 7:50 a.m. – 1:05 p.m.
Teachers will greet students on the playground with signs to identify themselves. This is where you will line up every day. Students will be released back on to the playground at the end of the day. Please remember to stay behind the painted white lines at pick up to give everyone space to find their families. Teachers will make sure students in after school care are escorted to their next location. Bring your school supplies with you on the first day!
Tears and Cheers: Lafayette Cafeteria, Sept 8th @ 8:00am-9:00am Kindergarten Parents, please join us after drop-off on the first day of Kindergarten for a cup of coffee, a tissue or a high five, and to get to know the other Kindergarten families. PTA board members and school admin staff will be on hand to answer questions! Enter the school through the front doors on California and join us in the cafeteria to your left. Staff vs 5th Grade Kickball Game
Volunteers Needed for the 5th Grade vs. Staff Kickball Game – Last Day of School, 6/17 from 8am-11am
One of Lafayette’s favorite year-end traditions is back! The entire school comes out to cheer as our 5th graders take on Lafayette Staff in the annual kickball game.
We’re looking for parent volunteers to help make the event run smoothly by supervising student spectators, passing out Otter Pops, and running music during the game.
Please note: due to space and supervision needs, this event is for students and staff only. Parents are not invited to attend unless signed up to volunteer.

The end of school is near and that means that Field Day is almost here, and we need your help to make it a fun and memorable day for our students! We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist with games, activities, setup, and cleanup on Friday, June 12th.

Hands on Science Assembly
The Pacific Science Center is coming to Lafayette on Wednesday, May 20 for a “Physics on Wheels” presentation! Students in all classes will get to experience hands-on science activities in the gym throughout the day.
We are looking for a few volunteers to help facilitate the program during the day, as well as a few volunteers to assist the science center team with packing up at the end of the event.

Our spring session registration will be open from April 1st through April 8th. Classes are held Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week. Please note the class times when making selections. Most classes are 60 minutes long.

Join us this weekend, Saturday, March 28th at 10am-12pm, as we "break ground" on our first Good Spaces effort to improve our outdoor spaces. We'll be weeding our playground planters and play field! Bring your garden tools - trowels, small shovels, weeding tools, gloves, and that community spirit! We'll be back at it soon, so if you can't make this one catch us next time!
We're also on the lookout for aerators, let us know if you can loan a tool even if you can't make the event.

Postponed: SCPTSA Reflections Art Show
We are proud to share that 10 talented Lafayette students will have their artwork featured at this year’s SCPTSA Reflections Art Show! 🎨
These students advanced to the Seattle Council level after participating in the Reflections program at Lafayette, and their creative work reflects this year’s powerful theme, “I Belong.” Their artwork represents not only their individual talent, but also the creativity, courage, and voice of our Lafayette community.
We hope families, friends, and supporters will join us in celebrating their achievements and all the student artists across Seattle Public Schools.

MAT Movie Day @ the Admiral!
Our All School Movie Field Trip to Admiral is coming up on Nov. 19th!
To celebrate our students' hard work and success of surpassing our goal for our Move-A-Thon, we will be taking an ALL SCHOOL field trip over to the Admiral Theater for a movie party. The students will be voting on a selection of movies: G Rated for grades K-3, PG for grades 4-5.
We need volunteers to help get our kids down to the theater, snacks handed out and safely back to school after the show. We need A LOT of parent help to make this work. But this can't happen without your help! We need at least two volunteers per grade plus volunteers to pass out snacks and help students find seats.
