Sarah Peppers, President
Sarah was born and raised on military bases across the country (and Germany), but West Seattle has been home for nearly 15 years. She has a Lafayette third grader and kindergartener; she and her partner also work to keep three pets and approximately fifty houseplants alive! Maybe all those childhood moves made her prone to jumping into community head first, which is how she’s serving her third year on the board as President this year despite being so green, but that’s one of her favorite colors.

Jordan Williams, Vice President
My name is Jordan Williams. I am the stay-at-home mom of 2 kiddos, one of which is a 3rd Grader at Lafayette in the Focus program, along with doing 2 years of developmental preschool here at Lafayette where he made some wonderful memories.
I enjoy crafting, reading, and going to Disney with my family! My husband and I are Georgia natives but have been in Washington for about 10 years. My family is neurodiverse, so I’m looking forward to applying my knowledge and experience to this role and getting to know the PTA members and more Lafayette families!

Haley Smith, Co-Treasurer
Haley is a Texas transplant and mom of two boys, Patrick (2nd grade) and Andrew (Alki Beach Academy). She is a CPA and works full time as an accounting manager. When she has free time, which is few and far between, she enjoys running, reading, baking, and exploring new parks with her boys. This is Haley's second year on the PTA and she's looking forward to supporting the Lafayette community!

Andrew Gaines, Co-Treasurer
-

Angela Koumriqian, Co-Secretary
I'm a mom of two, West Seattle native, and proud Lafayette alum! I made so many wonderful memories at Lafayette many (many!) years ago, and am so excited to see both my kids walk the same halls I did :)
-

Leah Denniston, Co-Secretary
I’m Leah, your PTA Co-Secretary. I’m from the rolling wheat fields of Eastern Washington, but I’ve found my home here in West Seattle. I’m Mom to a wonderful first grader and a spunky two-year-old. Our family loves exploring West Seattle, from local spots to community events and everything in between.
I work for a nonprofit that supports adults with developmental disabilities in finding employment within their communities. Inclusion is a strong value of mine, and I’m excited to help build on the already wonderful Lafayette community and make it a place where everyone feels welcome and connected.
When I’m not chasing my kids around, I’m probably redecorating a room. Wallpaper and a blank wall hate to see me coming! I’m excited to be part of the Lafayette PTA and community.

Laura Monsey, Past President
Laura is a Seattle native and mom of a 3rd grader and a 7th grader. She joined the PTA as treasurer in 2020 and served as president last year. Outside of PTA, she enjoys reading, baking, and camping.

Megan Melvin, Athletic Chair
I'm a Nurse Practitioner at Harborview and I've worked there for 17 years. I live in North Admiral and my son Benjamin will be starting Kindergarten at Lafayette this Fall. I also have a 3.5 year old son who will follow in his footsteps. I love skiing, hiking, backpacking, mountaineering, traveling, soccer and cultural experiences around Seattle. I'm very excited to get to know the Lafayette community more!

Michelle Ahlstrom, Enrichment
Michelle is a mom to a second grader at Lafayette and preschooler at SWEL. She has a degree in Landscape Architecture and works as a project manager in residential landscape design-build. She is an avid library user, loves discovering and sharing new restaurant and park combos off the island, and drinking matcha lattes in the sunshine.
-

Briana Eichbaum, Enrichment
Hi, I’m Bri! I’m a Seattle transplant who has called this city home for the past 17 years. I’m a mom to two kids—Ellie (7), a second grader at Lafayette, and Chase (16), a junior at WSHS.
I’ve been an educator for 20 years and currently teach kids yoga while finishing my master’s degree and working toward my teaching certification.
When I’m not teaching or momming, you can usually find me hiking, drinking coffee at C&P, working on a fun craft project, or hanging out with our new puppy! I love finding little ways to enjoy the seasons, explore Seattle, and make everyday life feel a little more fun.
-

Kelsey Schroder, Events Chair
Kelsey is a fairly recent West Seattle transplant, having spent time in Massachusetts and Texas, as well as being a Florida native. She is a not-currently-in-the-classroom early ed teacher and stay at home mom to a Kindergartener and 3rd grader at Lafayette. In her free time, Kelsey enjoys crafting, reading and thrifting. She is excited about building community among Lafayette's wonderful families this year!
-

Jensen Bonney, Social Media
I’m a West Seattle native, and mom to a fourth grader and 1 year old! I work as a mental health therapist for adolescence to adulthood after working for almost 10 years as an SPS school counselor. I have a friendly Basset Hound (Snoopy) that you might have seen around- he’s more popular than any of us!
