Let's Get Moving!
The Lafayette Move-A-Thon is a celebration of movement! Our students look forward to actively participating and raising funds to make Lafayette an amazing school! Your contributions support PTA programs, like tutors for our students, our garden program, our online reading platform and fun events for the students throughout the year.
Move-A-Thon Logistics:
Each student has 20 minutes to complete as many laps as they can along with their classmates. Students move at their own pace and complete anywhere from 5/10 laps up to 20/25 laps! You can support your favorite Leopard Learner by contributing a set donation amount or motivate them with a per-lap contribution!

Volunteers:
We need a lot of help to make this day happen. Volunteers, please plan to be at the school EARLY that day to help with set up, and stay until noon when the older students finish up!
Class Times:
Parents are welcome and encouraged to come cheer on their favorite Leopards as they take to the track! Class times are as follows:
1st grade: 8:30am – 9:00am
K & Pre-K (AM): 9:05am – 9:35am
2nd grade: 9:40am – 10:10am
3rd grade: 10:15am – 10:45am
4th grade: 10:50am – 11:20am
5th grade: 11:25am – 11:55am
PreK (PM): 11:55am - 12:15 pm

🏃♀️ Lafayette Move-a-thon! 🏃♂️
Hey everyone! We are raising money for the annual Move-a-thon at Lafayette Elementary, which is coming up on Oct 24th, and we need your help! The PTA uses the money to support tutoring at Lafayette, the garden program, and lots of fun events.
The students will run laps around the track, and you can donate a flat amount or per lap—most kids run 10-15 laps! Every dollar counts!

Many companies generously match the donations that their employees make to non-profit entities like the Lafayette PTA. Taking advantage of a company’s matching gift program is a great way to increase your donation without it costing anything except a little time – it’s a HUGE opportunity for our school!
Here’s what to do:
Check with your company - Contact HR or your corporate giving department to confirm they offer donation matching
Get required documentation - Most companies need a donation receipt or confirmation
Submit the matching request - Follow your company's specific process and deadlines
When to submit your matching request:
If you make a flat pledge and know that your employer matches charitable donations, immediately initiate action to have the gift matched.
If you make a per-lap pledge, you'll have to wait until the Move-A-Thon event to determine the final contribution to request your employer's match.
If you are unsure if your company has a matching gift program, most companies will have information about their matching programs on their internal employee portals, HR websites, or through their corporate giving departments. You can typically find this by:
Checking your company's intranet or employee resources
Contacting your HR department directly
Looking for corporate giving or community involvement pages on your company's website
Asking colleagues who may have used the program before
