  • Becky Brownlee, President

I'm a mom of 2 Lafayette learners (Isabeau 5th & Stellan 4th) as well as a Lafayette alum (Juniper 7th). I work full time. I enjoy photography, beach volleyball, glamping, and exploring new places/cultures! We are originally from Virginia (I'm sure you'll notice the southern accent slipping in from time to time) and have been in Seattle since 2015. Excited to bring my project management skills to the PTA and support this wonderful community! Shoot me an email here if you are curious how you can get involved - it's super rewarding!

  • Sara Davis, Vice President / Co-Events

Sara Davis is the proud mom to Annabelle (4th grade) and Parker (Kinder). When the kids are at school, Sara is busy working as an Architect alongside her husband and business partner, Kyle. In her free time (what’s that?), Sara enjoys gardening, reading, cooking, and adventures – whether local or across the globe (or, frequently, Disneyland). This school year Sara will be working with her husband/co-chair Kyle on bringing fun events to the Lafayette community – for kids, adults, families and friends!

  • Megan Tegen, Co-Treasurer

I’m Megan and a mom to a 4th grade son (Henry) and 1st grade daughter (Audrey). I work as a Corporate Office Manager and love what I do and who I work with! My experience as a past room parent as well as classroom volunteering pushed me to wanting to be more involved and I enjoy serving on the pta board. As a family we love to spend time outdoors, visiting National Parks, local parks & being tourists in our own city. In my free time I love to work in my garden/yard, read, organize everything, & ski.

  • Erin Roubik, Co-Treasurer

I am the mom of three very active kids - Ray (3rd grade), Cate (1st grade), and Lucy (Future Leopard). I am probably best recognizable as the woman with the large flower-wearing black puppy at drop off and pick up. Feel free to come up and say hi to us - she loves an excuse for a stranger to give her a treat. Lafayette will be the first school my kids have spent more than a year attending (and they are very excited about this)! We are a military family who hops between cities but have fallen in love with West Seattle and are doing our best to stay as long as possible. I am a CPA and own my own accounting business. When I saw the treasurer position open up, I finally felt like I had something to contribute. I look forward to helping where I can.

  • Laura Monsey, Co-Secretary

Laura is a lifelong Seattleite and has two sons at Lafayette this year, Beau (4th grade) and Charlie (kindergarten). She works full time in local government and enjoys running, camping, and baking with her kids.

  • Sarah Kleiman, Co-Secretary

Sarah is a proud mom to Naomi (3rd grader) and Elle (a Lafayette alumni and 8th grader). The Hunt family moved from California in July 2020 and are enjoying the Seattle area. She’s looking forward to serving on the Board in the Secretary role during the 2023-2024 school year. Feel free to email her.

  • Christy Pudduck, Past President (2022-2023)

Hi Lafayette! I am a mom to three boys: Dex (junior at WSHS), Cal (freshman at WSHS) and Seb (my 5th grade Lafayette Leopard!). I love all things outdoors and am my best self when I’m skiing knee deep powder or lost somewhere in nature. When I’m not working hard for our school or helping out in others, you can find me coaching at Hiit Lab, my happy place!

I can't believe it's my last year parenting in elementary school; I feel like I looked away for a second and it was over! Our family feels truly lucky to have had such a special school to call home the past decade.

  • Lia Aprile, Communications Team

Lia is the mom of three amazing kids, two at Lafayette: her daughter, Roma (5th grade) and son, August (1st grade), and one future Leopard, Maximo, who is still in preschool. In addition to being a full-time mom of three, Lia works as a writer creating scripts and stories for companies of all sizes, so taking on the Communications role this year feels like a great fit. This is Lia's third year serving on the Lafayette PTA, and she's excited for another great year! She loves being a part of the incredible Lafayette community and continues to be blown away by the spirit of the students, staff, and parents.

  • Tanya Gardiner, Communications Team

Tanya is a proud mother of two kids, Haaken (1st Grade) and Teagan (Pre-K), and a lifelong resident of West Seattle. Tanya is excited to work with other parents and school staff to help make the school a success. She works full time in real estate, and enjoys attending sporting events with her family, traveling, dancing, and reading late into the evening when the house is quiet. Tanya is a dedicated and enthusiastic parent who is eager to help make a difference in the Lafayette community!

  • Sadie Schnitzler, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

I’m mama to a 5th grader + Kindergartener. A few things about me: My partner + I are IN IT together: we raise our kids + Bernedoodles, are entrepreneurs, grand adventurers and are committed to raising our bicultural kids between Seattle + Nepal. I love travel, national parks, hiking, camping, open (cold) water swimming, road-trips, food: growing it, cooking it, sharing it, eating it. I like connecting with folks to build community around resource sharing, development, culture, art, business + social change. I’m excited to learn alongside this community and foster an environment that is inclusive, accessible and equitable; celebrating the collective culture and diversity along the way. I’d love to build a robust committee of voices to support the mission of making Lafayette a truly inclusive school. Email me!

  • Kyle Davis, Co-Events

Though this is Kyle's first official year on the PTA, he's been working on school events with his co-chair since his daughter Annabelle was in Kindergarten - this year she's in 4th grade! Joining her is her little brother, Parker. An Architect by day, in his free time he loves to travel, go to football games (Go Hawks!), spend time with his family and friends, and snowboard. He dreams of the day when he can return to Portugal. Kyle is looking forward to planning some fun events for the Lafayette Community this year!

  • Nikki Rice Malki, Fundraising

As a former student of Lafayette (1985 - 1991) herself, Nikki is delighted - if not a little weirded out - to have a 1st grade son of her own (Benjamin) roaming the same halls. Nikki spent the last 25 years in SoCal working in the film/tv industry as a stop motion puppet fabricator, before moving back home to West Seattle last August to get her son as close to his grandparents as possible. She hopes to continue her work here, hanging out her own shingle as "Puppets Northwest." This is Nikki's second year as a PTA member but first on the board, as Fundraising Chair. She hopes to follow the example that her parents started 4 decades ago as PTA members/OG Acorn Award Winners (read as "not mess it up" HA!) and bring that same level of energy, creativity and service to the Lafayette community and beyond.

  • Michelle Demers, Legislative

Mom of Elliot (5th grade) and wife of Ben, Michelle is excited to join the PTA for her final year at Lafayette. Originally from British Columbia, she’s lived in Seattle since 2008. When not walking the dog, seeing live music, or wrangling the family calendar, Michelle produces a folk music festival just over the border in Canada.

  • Sarah Winkle, Membership

I’m a Mom of two boys, Liam (4th grade), and Rylan (Pre-k) who will be joining Lafayette next year. I’m a full time parent and part time Bookkeeper. We love baseball, live music, camping, and and adventuring into the beautiful wilderness around us! I have been a volunteer and Room parent the past couple years and I’m excited to take on this new role and help our Lafayette community!

  • Jenny Goupil, Move-A-Thon

Jenny is a mom of two active boys: Asher (kindergartner) and Arlo (12 months, future Leopard). In her spare time, she enjoys taking PNW adventures with her family, traveling, and baking. Jenny is a Corporate Event Project Manager and owns her own consulting business. She is excited to take on this year’s Lafayette Move-A-Thon, a perfect fit for her skills. Jenny is thrilled to be joining the Lafayette community and serving on the PTA. Go Leopards!

  • Chad Young, Room Parent Coordinator

I am a father of two Lafayette students (Julian in 5th grade and Cora in 2nd). After a decade of product management at Amazon, the kids are now my full-time job, though I also do baseball writing and podcasting on the side. In addition to watching too much baseball, I love photography, travel, and soccer. Inspired by my little learners, I have been trying to learn guitar, as well. I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio. My wife, Katie, and I lived in Chicago before we moved to Seattle 12 years ago. This is my first year on the PTA board, but I have been involved in Lafayette over the last five years as a room parent and volunteer, and I look forward to bringing that experience to my role this year.

  • Steve Monsey, Co-Self-Help and Tech Liaison

  • Jason Eakes, Co-Self-Help and Tech Liaison

Jason and his wife Brooke have 1st Grader Dylan and 3-year-old son Davis. They have lived in West Seattle for 8 years and are long-time Seattle residents. Jason is a West Seattle Little League coach, small business owner and Mariners fan. He’s looking forward to helping out the PTA this year!

  • Jordan Williams, Special Education

My name is Jordan Williams. I am the stay at home mom of 2 kiddos, one of which is going into kinder at Lafayette in the focus program after doing 2 years of developmental preschool there where he made some wonderful memories.

I enjoy crafting, reading, and going to Disney with my family! My husband and I are originally from Georgia but have been in Washington for almost 9 years. My family is neurodiverse so I’m really looking forward to applying my knowledge and experience to this role and getting to know the PTA members and all of the families at Lafayette!

  • Alana Holmquist, At Large

I've been a parent at this school since my oldest daughter was in Kindergarten. I have a 3rd grader, Taage, at Lafayette and two daughters Linnea 9th and Mila 7th. I am a pediatric dietitian but now a stay at home mom. I enjoy playing tennis and getting outside. I have started substitute teaching at Lafayette and enjoy being in the school and getting to know the children of our Lafayette community. I am originally from Manitoba, Canada, and still spend our summers at our cabin there.

  • TEACHER REPRESENTATIVE: Michael Marks (5th Grade)

Michael Marks was born and raised in Seattle (except for a few years in Berkeley, CA where he attended the same elementary school as Vice President Harris). He attended Washington State University and is a Die Hard Coug. This is his second year at Lafayette and he is very happy to be teaching at his neighborhood school in which his morning commute is a 5-block walk. Mr. Marks enjoys playing rugby and can be found wandering around the North Admiral neighborhood with his dog, Bodhi, talking to the crows.

  • TEACHER REPRESENTATIVE: Anna Anderson (1st Grade)

Anna Anderson is a 1st grade teacher at Lafayette. This is her 16th year in education and 4th year teaching at Lafayette. She loves teaching at Lafayette because she loves the community and because it’s where her two boys attend school as 5th & 3rd graders! She has lived in West Seattle for 12 years. When not at school, Mrs. Anderson likes to spend time with her family, attend her kids activities, run, and travel. She is eager to work as one of the PTA representatives at Lafayette to connect with families and the community.
