Laura Monsey, President
Laura is a Seattle native with one current Lafayette Leopard—Charlie (2nd grade)—and one former Leopard, Beau, who just started middle school. She joined the PTA as treasurer in 2020 and somehow ended up president. She enjoys baking with her kids, weekend campouts, and a good spreadsheet.
-
Sarah Peppers, Vice President
Sarah was born and raised on military bases across the country (and Germany) but has been in the great PNW long enough to love a chill, misty morning- West Seattle specifically has been home for nearly 15 years. She has a Lafayette second grader and a future leopard in PreK; she and her partner also work to keep three pets and approximately fifty houseplants alive! Maybe all those childhood moves made her prone to jumping into community head first, which is how she’s serving her second year on the board as VP despite being so green, but that’s one of her favorite colors.
-
Sarah Winkle, Co-Treasurer
I’m a mom of two boys, Liam (6th grade) and Rylan (1st grade). I’m a full-time parent and part time Bookkeeper. We love baseball, live music, camping, and adventuring into the beautiful wilderness around us! This is my third year on the PTA Board and I’m excited to see what this year brings!
-
Haley Smith, Co-Treasurer
Haley is a Texas transplant and mom of two boys, Patrick (1st grade) and Andrew (toddler at Alki Beach Academy). She is a CPA and works full time as an accounting manager. When she has free time, which is few and far between, she enjoys running, skiing, reading, baking, and exploring new parks with her boys. This is Haley's first year on the PTA and she's looking forward to supporting the Lafayette community!
-
Tanya Gardiner, Co-Secretary
Tanya is the lucky mom of two kids, Haaken (3rd Grade) and Teagan (1st Grade), and a lifelong resident of West Seattle. She works full time in real estate, and enjoys attending sporting events with her family, traveling, and reading late into the evening when the house is quiet. This is Tanya’s 4th year on the PTA Board, and she is so happy to be part of this Lafayette community!
-
Angela Koumriquian, Co-Secretary
I'm a stay-at-home mom and proud Lafayette alum! These days, I’m chasing after two wild and wonderful daughters, whipping up way too many baked goods, and saying "yes" to just about every volunteer opportunity that comes my way. My oldest starts Kindergarten this fall, and I’m beyond excited to watch her walk the same halls I did… back when Lunchables were cool and scrunchies were worn unironically.
-
Sara Davis, Past President
Sara Davis is the proud mom to Annabelle (6th grade) and Parker (2nd grade). When the kids are at school, Sara is busy working as an Architect alongside her husband and business partner, Kyle. In her free time (what’s that?), Sara enjoys gardening, reading, cooking, and adventures – whether local or across the globe (or, frequently, Disneyland). Sara was our PTA President last year, working to enhance our Lafayette community – for kids, adults, families and friends!
-
Nikki Rice Malki, Fundraising
As a former student of Lafayette (1985 - 1991) herself, Nikki is delighted - if not a little weirded out - to have a 3rd grade son of her own (Benjamin) roaming the same halls. Nikki spent the last 25 years in SoCal working in the film/tv industry as a stop motion puppet fabricator, before moving back home to West Seattle to get her son as close to his grandparents as possible. She hopes to continue her work here, hanging out her own shingle as "Puppets Northwest." This is Nikki's 3rd year on the PTA board as Fundraising Chair. She is grateful to continue her parents’ legacy, which started 4 decades ago as Lafayette PTA members/OG Acorn Award Winners, and she brings that same level of energy, creativity and service to the Lafayette community and beyond.
-
Arianna Gervasio, Fundraising
I am a stay-at-home mom to two incredible kids- Camilla (3rd Grade) and Isla (3). This will be my first year on the PTA Board, but my second taking on the annual auction. I am so excited to help raise much needed funds for our school and to be a part of such a passionate group of fellow parents.
When I'm not raising money for Lafayette, you can find me leading one of the largest Girl Scout troops in West Seattle. In my pre-mom years, I worked as a high school and adult rowing coach in Oakland, Portland, and Seattle, and competed with local adult teams. Nowadays, I spend my limited free time watching sports, catching a Broadway touring show downtown, playing board and video games with my kids, and trying to read more books than last year.
-
Lia Aprile, Newsletters
Lia is the mom of three amazing kids who all have attended Lafayette: Roma (7th grade), August (3rd grade), and Maximo (1st grade). In addition to being a full-time mom of three, Lia works as a writer creating scripts and stories for companies of all sizes, so continuing on the Communications role this year is a great fit. This is Lia's 5th year serving on the Lafayette PTA, and she's excited for another great year! She loves being a part of the incredible Lafayette community and continues to be blown away by the spirit of the students, staff, and parents.
-
Christine Carter, Room Parent Coordinator
Christine is mom to Maxen (5th) and Violet (2nd) and also works at Lafayette as a tutor. She loves this school and its community. You’ll often find her on the sidelines cheering at her kids’ softball, soccer and ultimate frisbee games. When she’s off duty, she’s gardening, sewing, camping, or walking the dog around West Seattle. She’s excited to support room parents and strengthen the connections between families, teachers, and classrooms.
-
Lizzy Cordeau, Volunteer Coordinator
I am the proud mom of Zoe (4th grade) and Julia (1st grade). This is my 3rd year on the PTA Board, having been an Enrichment Co-Coordinator for the previous two years. I'm excited for this new role and hope to get more parents involved in the amazing programming the PTA hosts throughout the year. When I’m not volunteering at the school, I’m either working on building my art sales business, or doing something active. Having moved to Seattle 11 years ago from Manhattan, I enjoy every chance I have to explore the area. My family has fallen in love with West Seattle, and that has a lot to do with the strong community at Lafayette. I believe strongly in building community through volunteerism and would love to help other parents find ways to participate! Email me at volunteer@lafayettepta.com for more info!

Jordan Williams, Special Education
My name is Jordan Williams. I am the stay-at-home mom of 2 kiddos, one of which is going into 2nd Grade at Lafayette in the focus program, after doing 1st and Kinder + 2 years of developmental preschool here at Lafayette where he made some wonderful memories.
I enjoy crafting, reading, and going to Disney with my family! My husband and I are originally from Georgia but have been in Washington for almost 10 years. My family is neurodiverse so I’m really looking forward to applying my knowledge and experience to this role again and continuing to get to know the PTA members and all of the families at Lafayette!
-
Lisa Kimbrough, Special Education
Hi, I’m Lisa Kimbrough. I’m a fairly new parent at Lafayette with twin 4th graders, and I also have a 6th grader at Madison. We moved to the neighborhood from Nashville in 2024 and have quickly grown to love both the community and the schools. My oldest has dyslexia and ADHD and has had an IEP since 2nd grade, which has made me passionate about supporting other parents navigating the special education system. I’m excited to get involved and give back however I can.
-
Jenn Elliott Blake, Advocacy
Jenn views being mom to Teddy (1st grade) and Auggie (4th grade) as the best and most important role she holds. She joined the PTA last year with the hopes of supporting not only her children, but other children at Lafayette and in greater WS, in getting access to the educational services they need and deserve. When not advocating on behalf of students, she’s also helping to organize Lafayette’s yearly auction, is soccer coach to an awesome group of now 1st graders, and is actively engaged in three other school related boards in Seattle. She also works full-time as a freelance prop and interiors stylist. Outside of being a mom and stylist, Jenn’s greatest passion is travel, photography and quality time with her family. After nearly 20 years in Seattle (she and her husband Adam were born and raised in Colorado) she is eager to continue building community with other families in West Seattle and looks forward to being on the PTA again this year.
-
Michelle Ahlstrom, Enrichment
Michelle is a California transplant and a mom to a first grader at Lafayette and preschooler at SWEL. After being a stay-at-home mom for 6 years, she recently went back to work in residential landscape construction. She is an avid library user, loves discovering and sharing new restaurant and park combos off the island, and drinking matcha lattes in the sunshine.
-
Briana Eichbaum, Enrichment
-
Megan Melvin, Athletic Chair
I'm a Nurse Practitioner at Harborview and I've worked there for 17 years. I live in North Admiral and my son Benjamin will be starting Kindergarten at Lafayette this Fall. I also have a 3.5 year old son who will follow in his footsteps. I love skiing, hiking, backpacking, mountaineering, traveling, soccer and cultural experiences around Seattle. I'm very excited to get to know the Lafayette community more!
-
Marissa Baker, Legislative
Marissa grew up attending public schools in Washington state and is currently the parent of a 4th grade Lafayette Leopard.
This is her first year on the board, serving in the legislative role—meaning she keeps the pulse on things happening at the city and state level that could impact Lafayette.
Marissa is a professor at University of Washington in the School of Public Health where she researches the link between environmental and occupational exposures and human health and teaches and mentors both undergraduate and graduate students.
