To Our Incoming Kindergarten Families, the Kindergarten Team at Lafayette is so excited to meet you and welcome your little ones to school here in the Fall.  Our goal is to make sure you and your child are feeling comfortable about what to expect, and we look forward to getting to know you this year.  To our returning families, welcome back, we look forward to continuing our partnerships with you!

Teachers have released grade specific school supply lists for this school year. Take a look HERE!

UPDATE: The PTA has purchased some of the items from each of the teacher’s school supply lists, which will be kept in the classrooms to be used year after year. See your updated School Supply Lists below!

Take a look at all of the Back to School events we have scheduled, including a Playground Cleanup, New Student Playdates, Teacher Meet and Greet, and Kindergarten Tears and Cheers! If you’d like to join the event team to make these events happen, please contact us!

Kiddos growing out of their clothes? Need a fresh look to start the new school year but don’t want to spend the money?  Look no further! This Fall, Lafayette will hold its first ever clothing swap! So, during this summer break, don’t let those too small, gently worn items go, save them for our exchange!

Hello wonderful Lafayette families!

Each summer we look for volunteers to tend and water the school gardens for a week, starting each Sunday and going through Saturday. You will pick the keys up from Ms. Alden in North Admiral on Sunday morning and return them the following Saturday.

The Lafayette PTA is seeking nominations for the 2023-24 Golden Acorn Award, celebrating exceptional volunteers who go above and beyond for our Lafayette community. Nominations should showcase the candidate's service to all our students, encompassing their contributions through our PTA, within the school, and throughout the community. PTA membership is required for candidacy.

Nominations will close on May 24th, and the Golden Acorn Award Committee will make the final selection.If you know someone who makes a difference, nominate them today! Let's celebrate the bright lights of Lafayette together!

All things Yearbook! Deadlines for preorders, photo submissions, and cover art votes is May 15th! Make sure you have everything in by the end of the day on Wednesday!

Our school counselor, Kenna Hart, is offering a 6-week Positive Discipline Parenting Class on Wednesdays (May 1 - June 5) from 8-9 am. This class will help you learn the basic parenting approach of the Positive Discipline model by engaging in group activities and discussions.

Teacher and Staff appreciation week is May 6-10

We will be celebrating our teachers and staff and have included ways for you and your family to give them the appreciation they deserve!

Budget planning for the 2024-2025 school year is underway & we'd love to hear from you! Your anonymous feedback will guide our budget committee as we create a proposal which will be voted on by our PTA members at our April/May General PTA meeting. Also, if you’d like to join the budget committee, email us!

This Mother's Day, support Lafayette Elementary and Hmong farmers by buying flower bouquets! Proceeds go to a SPS school of your choice and a Title 1 school in Seattle and are tax-deductible. Bouquets will be available to be picked up at Lafayette on May 11th, between 1:00-3:00PM. They are $60 for one bouquet or $100 for two.
