The Scholastic Book Fair is coming back to Lafayette Library, December 8th - 13th. More details to come! We're looking for folks to help run the store during our craft fair, lunches and after school Dec 8th - Dec 13th.

Lafayette Elementary PTA has worked with the PNW Ballet to reserve 200 group rate tickets to see The Nutcracker on December 15th at 7:30pm! At $60 per person, this is an incredible opportunity to see this beautiful show.

On Monday Nov. 27th, Tuesday Nov. 28th and Wednesday Nov. 29th, Lafayette will be doing the annual vision and hearing screenings for K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th grade and will need 2-3 volunteers to help organize and bring classes to where the screening will be.

We had amazing weather for the kids to run their laps as part of Move-A-Thon this past Friday! The donations have been tallied and we far exceeded our goal with a total of $90,337 raised to support our Lafayette students and staff! 

November is Native American Heritage Month in the United States, which is a celebration of traditions, languages, and stories of Native American, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and affiliated Island communities to ensure their rich histories and contributions continue to thrive with each passing generation.

As good neighbors, we can make a significant difference by being mindful, offering alternatives, and most importantly, communicating with members of our communities. Here are some things to think about as you prepare for tonight's festivities:

The Lafayette Move-A-Thon is coming up on November 3rd! Our students look forward to actively participating and raising funds for our amazing school!

Look for some fun and informative handouts coming home with your students in early October as we kick-off fundraising efforts!

We have worked out discounted tickets with the Kraken on December 29th! Slightly different from other teams, nothing will be coming back to the PTA and while we will all be close, we won’t be in the exact same area, but this is a great opportunity to see them play at a more affordable price!

Please note that there are price tiers – the less expensive tickets do have obscured views of the jumbotrons – but clear views of the ice (see their 3D ticket view map on link). Tickets will be available until Dec 22nd or when sold out!

Join your fellow Lafayette Adults and Friends at our second annual Costume Party Meet and Greet on Wednesday, October 25th, 6-10pm (if you like to karaoke, make sure to stay past 9pm!) at the Benbow Room, 4210 SW Admiral Way. $20 per person in advance, $25 at the door. Tickets include one drink ticket! Ma’Ono will be available for purchase at the back kiosk or bar grub for purchase at the bar counter

Are you a passionate parent or caregiver who wants to make a difference in your student's education? Hispanic Heritage Month honors the histories, cultures and contributions of Americans with ancestry in Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Each year, National Hispanic Heritage Month (https://www.hispanicheritagemonth.gov/about/) is observed in the United States from September 15 to October 15.  

Lafayette Elementary has blocked out some great seats for the Seattle Mariners vs Houston Astros game on Wednesday, September 27th at 6:40pm. Come spend time with our Lafayette Community. Tickets will be in the 100 level for $25 per person!

Parents and Guardians, please join us in-person at Lafayette for this year's Curriculum Night to meet with your child’s teacher and learn about what's ahead for this school year.

• Kindergarten Only - Wednesday, September 20th, 5:30-6:30pm

• 1st-5th Grades - Thursday, September 21st, 5:30-6:30pm

You will not only get to hear about the curriculum, but you will also get to hear about the daily schedule, classroom rules and routines, and ask any lingering questions you may have. Please come in through the front of the school on California Ave. and make your way to your child’s classroom. If you cannot attend, your teacher will send a summary and the PowerPoint so you can be filled in on the details.
