Thank you for attending the Lafayette General PTA meeting last week on 3/23/23.  Information was shared about how to approach improvements to the playground (structures & field) from guest speakers Shelly Kirby (SPS Playground Planning Analyst) and Thabisa Mazur (SPS Self Help Department), DEI updates, Enrichment updates, PTA events, and requests for volunteers for the 2023/2024 PTA Executive Board. The West Seattle 5K is returning this year on Sunday, May 21st for the first time since 2019. The 12th running of the WS5K is presented by the West Seattle High School PTSA. Participants will enjoy a beautiful 5K course along Alki Avenue SW. Register now: https://westseattle5k.com/registration/

There have been complaints recently from the Bank of America branch next to the school about Lafayette families parking in the bank parking lot and walking students onto the school property. Please do not park in the Bank of America parking area during drop-off and pick-up times. We love our Lafayette neighbors and want to keep friendly relations in our community!

PTA Budget Planning for the 23/24 begins this month! We are welcoming any PTA members who would like to be a part of the budget committee to help draft next year's budget. Meetings will be held March 30th and April 17th and the budget will be voted on at the May 4th PTA Meeting.
