There are so many exciting events coming up that we hope you can join us at as we get ready for going back to school!
Sun Aug 17th @ 9-11am: Playground Cleanup
Join us for a fun-filled morning in August for a Playground Cleanup before the new school year starts. Bring a pair of gloves and some gardening tools as we work together to spruce up our beloved playground, ensuring a safe and clean environment for all. We will be working with A Cleaner Alki to host a Block Drop in front of the school to clean up the surrounding streets!
Sun Aug 24th @ 2-4pm: Kinder + New Student Playdates
The Lafayette PTA has organized two Kindergarten and New Student playdates, which will be held at the Lafayette playground. Come by to let the littles play and get to know other new Lafayette families and students! PTA members will also be available to answer questions.
TBD: Playground Painting
Help us freshen up the blacktop painting and paint over the graffiti on the murals around the playground. No painting experience required! Just bring yourself and some clothes you’re okay getting a little messy.
Thurs Aug 28th @ 4:30-5:30pm: Back to School Teacher Meet and Greet
Your Lafayette teachers and staff will be hosting a Back to School Teacher Meet and Greet on the playground for students, parents, and guardians to meet their child's teacher before the start of the new school year! This is also a fantastic opportunity for our students and families to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones before the start of the school year. We look forward to welcoming all our Lafayette families to this exciting event and are eager to kick off the school year on a positive note. See you on the playground!

Mon Sept 8th @ 7:50am-8:50am : Kindergarten Tears & Cheers
Join other Kindergarten Families in the Lafayette Cafeteria after dropping off your little one for their first day of elementary school for coffee, tea and treats from the PTA. Administrators and PTA members will be onsite to hand you a tissue or high five you for making it to full time school and answer any questions you may have about the school year ahead for your student! Please enter through the main school entrance on California Avenue, head left, and we will see you then!

If you’d like to join the Back to School Team to make these events happen, it is low-commitment and fun! We’d love to have some outgoing Kinder families on the team since it's so fresh for you. We're looking for anyone who can help create a warm and friendly atmosphere for new families.
