Encouraging reading is one of the most important things we can do to help our children succeed. It can be tough finding the right books to keep them interested, which is why we are excited that our school participates in Book Fairs. Each year, Lafayette hosts two Scholastic Book Fairs, in the Fall and Spring. There are plenty of reasons why schools participate in Book Fairs.
Why, and how, should you get involved?
While fundraising is a definite benefit to holding a Book Fair (Lafayette receives a percentage of all Fair sales, which it can take in cash or spend on books or other supplies), so is uniting kids with literature and bringing the community together in honor of that mission. It also provides you with the opportunity to engage in reading with your kids and tune in to their passions.
Sign up to assist our Librarian, Ms. Nakagawa by helping to staff the Book Fair or just attend the Fair when it opens. Along with your own purchases, pick up a few items from your child’s teacher’s wish list. No matter your level of involvement, you’ll be helping to connect kids and books. There’s no better way to raise a reader.

- Clip & Send the Newspaper Flyer Order Form (remember to add sales tax to your total)
