Any Chevy Chase Winter Lights experts in the house?  Here’s your moment to shine!

Lafayette Elementary First Annual Winter Lights Festival

Mark your calendars, you are invited to help create & enjoy our Lafayette Winter Light Festival, December 14-15, 6-8 pm.  This is a brand new event, our first ever light festival.  We hope to turn our playground into a twinkling winter wonderland.  A community building Free event for all of our students, their families and friends as well as our entire West Seattle Community and beyond.  Come sip hot cocoa and enjoy a cookie while taking a stroll in the “snow” through our outdoor light display.

Designed and built by our students, teachers and parents.  Design and build set-up help needed on December 12th and 13th after school by the portables.  Each grade will create a winter themed, non-religious, light display with donated or purchased lights (LED PLEASE) or inflatables.  The grade with the best design gets a pizza and ice cream party!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES, each grade needs a few “captains” to help design, organize their display and coordinate volunteers for the build days.   Contact your room parent or team captain for volunteering to help set-up.

We have free cookies, cocoa, music, and a snow flake machine for the kids to dance under!

What we need are creative people to envision and put up the lighting designs.

> The lights can be donated or purchased!   Thank you for your help!  We’ll need lots of lights!!!

We need your help putting up lights and an on sight electrician to help with the two days of set up (set up is December 12th and 13th after school).

And if you know a holiday light expert- INVITE them!

Questions?  Please contact Project Coordinator Sarah Whitehead.
This is a first time event, we may not have all the answers but we are a creative and hard working group, and its exciting to think about the possibilities of what we can build!

THANK YOU TO Seattle Police, Starbucks Coffee, Safeway, Home Depot, Junction True Value, Zebra Printing, and Costco Wholesale.

Suggested $2/person donations accepted at the door.  All proceeds support the Lafayette PTA.

Here’s the walk-through layout.  Lights will be outside near portables.
