Please join us as we welcome Dr. Ilene Schwartz to Lafayette Elementary to speak about why inclusion matters within schools and in our community.  She will cover topics such as how to talk to your child about disability and the benefits of inclusion followed by Q&A. This event is geared toward families with children of all abilities. Dr. Schwartz is the director of the Haring Center for Inclusive Education on the UW campus, an interdisciplinary, research and training center focused on improving outcomes for children of all abilities. She is the author of 3 books and over 75 scholarly articles and book chapters.  For more information or to request specific accommodations, email Pam Phillips.

GREEN Team Mondays

Green Team starts Jan 14th. The Green Team will meet Mondays at 2:30-3:30 pm.  Sign-up by filling out a permission slip and returning it to Ms. Whipple, room 13.  Permission slips available outside Ms. Whipple’s door (room 13) and all are welcome to participate/join any time of year.  Parent volunteer(s) are also welcome.  What is the Green Team?  It is a team of students led by Ms. Whipple who will be looking for ways that our school can be more eco-friendly and act more sustainably, as well as participate in environmental learning activities.  Questions or interested in volunteering, please contact Ms. Whipple.
